Styrenated Phenols
Styrenated Phenol (SP) is a clear, yellow, viscous liquid and is supplied in 3 grades-
mono-, di-, or tri- styrenated phenol.

It is a non-staining and non-discoloring anti-oxidant for dry rubber and latex compounds.

It acts as a stabilizer in polymers in combination with other phosphite or phenolic anti-oxidants.

SP particularly finds use in white and colored rubber. The rubber articles that use Styrenated phenol are Hawaii Sheets and Straps, Rubber tubing, Conveyor belts covers and latex dipped products (such as industrial gloves, surgical gloves, feeding bottle teat). Other products such as balloons, hot water bottles, injection bottle caps, rubber rollers and Footwear related items (such as Micro cellular sheets, Resin rubber sling, Canvas upper shoe) use Styrenated Phenol.

SP emulsion is used in the manufacture of latex foam, latex sprays for coir treatment (Coir foams).

SP can be ethoxylated using Ethylene oxide. The ethoxylated SP finds use as an emulsifier in the pesticide industry.

EPOXY RD

EPOXY RD is an organic liquid of low viscosity and useful in epoxy resin systems. It is completely miscible with all liquid epoxy resin and can therefore be blended in any concentration consistent with the physical properties required by the end-user.

It can be considered a partial replacement for conventional hardners such as polyamines, aromatic amines and polyamides. Resins containing this speciality chemical may be stored in closed containers for several months without appreciable change in viscosity.

EPOXY RD improves the compressive strength and dimensional stability of the epoxy castings. In epoxy potting compound, it enhances electrical properties and gives superior bond strength which makes it of value in adhesive applications.

Conventional reactive diluents like Butyl Glycidyl Ethers (BGE) are more expensive and there is limitation to the quantity, which may be added before the chemical and physical properties start to deteriorate.

Absolute viscosity control comes through the addition of a reactive diluent like EPOXY RD.

Cobalt Octoate- 6% / 3%

This special grade of Cobalt Octoate is suitable for use as an accelerator in unsaturated polyester resin (UPR). The amount of Cobalt Octoate added is usually 0.5 - 1.5% of unsaturated polyester resin.Cobalt Octoate along with MEKP promote gelling and curing of unsaturated polyester resin.



Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide (MEKP)
This liquid is used from 1.5-2.0% as catalyst in unsatuarted polyester resin along with Cobalt Octoate for curing purposes. The Cobalt Octoate is first stirred in the unsaturated polyester resin, followed by MEKP and stirred. The reaction is exothermic.

RAP 18
RAP 18 is used as an excellent rubber adhesion promoter between rubber and metal. The RAP 18 is used as an ingredient of rubber stock and on vulcanization, the rubber shows improved bonding characteristics to metal. The product finds use in bonding of rubber to steel in the manufacture of Radial Tyres, Conveyer Belts and other chemical applications such as rubber lining of reactors, Valves.
